A: The 590 is basically a beefed up modified 500. That said the 500 has been made for 40 years with no problems I would get the 500 you have pictured and never have a 2nd thought

A: The 590 and A1 are parkerized versions and have slightly heavier barrels(Militarized comes to mind). It is not a huge difference, but the 590's are more sturdier built. The Mossberg 500 will serve you well with no issues. I happen to have both.
