I have to say this was...
I have to say this was fun right out of the box, however mine was shipped with a different forened which looks to be a Mossberg 500 Synthetic Forearm, .410 Bore, not pictured here which in my opinion is a pleasant surprise. Currently sitting beside M-LOK forend/stock combo waiting to be installed. This is an HD gun that doubles as a clay shooter, the bead sight hasn't let me down.

The 500 just feels...
The 500 just feels more robust that the Maverick 88 and is heavier. They say they are the same gun, but I disagree. Love the heat shield already installed on this 500 and the parkerized finish is very nice. I'm just partial to these short barrel shotguns as they are lighter and easier to maneuver. All in all a great defensive shotgun from Mossberg and glad to see Buds has them back in stock after 2 years of gun buying chaos.
