A: You did the correct thing by checking with the manufacturer. The person that indicated they got the incorrect model probably just got a mix up (it does unfortunately occur). I know to make sure the one I purchased was correct, I actually contacted the manufacturer who not only confirmed it was correct but also said if it was not what I wanted to get with them and they'd fix it.

A: Paul, Yes, the Mossberg 590A1 is "Drilled and Tapped" to ad a Mount for Optic's..

A: Yes, these guns are drilled and tapped on the receiver, so that you can upgrade optics. Hope this helps.

A: No, only the 20" models with the two barrel guide rings have a bayonet lug on them. The 590A1 I bought was the 20" model with a bayonet lug, while it's cool, not a terribly useful feature at the end of the day.
