This review is for the Remington 11-87 Police with bead sight. This shotgun is solid (8.25 pounds) and well made. I bought this strictly for home defense. I am very well pleased with my purchase. The recoil with 2.75 and 3 inch slugs is very mild. I set up my target at the outdoor range at 7 yards and then at 30 yards. The point of impact using the bead sight was perfect at both distances. I used 30 3 inch slugs and 10 2.75 inch slugs and as I write this review only one hour has passed and moving my arm I barely know that I went shooting today. I didn't experience any fail to fire or fail to eject while shooting which is great considering I didn't bother to clean the gun or anything, straight from the box to the range. For those who might be wondering the receiver is not drilled and tapped to add a rail or rings. They do sell after market rails that are shaped like the receiver and you hold them in place with two screws that go where there was originally two pins in the receiver. Overall I have to say Remington hit a homerun and this shotgun has a permanent home in my safe.
