This shotgun has been...
This shotgun has been great! I can shoot 3" groups at 100 yards. You have to pull the bolt back with some force to make sure the shell cycles out but I haven't had issues while hunting. Very happy with this gun.

Lives up to the...
Lives up to the Browning name. Tight and smooth action as well as trigger, light and maneuverable in a tree stand. 3in. sabot slugs produce a 2 inch pattern at 100yds without any problem other than a stiff recoil. If using the recommended direct bolt on browning rings I found it didn't allow space for a "nikon slug hunter" shotgun scope so moved to a rifle scope which fit and shot beautiful as it really is a rifle platform. Eye relief is tight but enough.

I live in a Shotgun...
I live in a Shotgun only county and the Browning A Bolt 12g is the most accurate shotgun I have found for hunting deer. The walnut finish is in my opinion the way to go, because it delivers a higher value look than the other finishes, while also adding just a little weight to the gun. All the moving parts cycle smoothly and work reliably. The fiber optic sights are fantastic, but you will need a scope on this to take advantage of the distance it can give you. The accuracy is appropriate for Mid Atlantic hayfield hunting and I have taken 3 deer this year, at 105yds, 145yds and 135yds. If you need reliable shotgun accuracy beyond 75yds, this gun is the premium value option.
