probably one of the worst firearms I have ever bought. All the pins back out of the rifle and it will randomly lock up with an empty case stuck in the chamber.

Shoots well nice gun priced reasonable also

This Mossberg 464 30-30 Lever Action Rifle is Extremely Well designed and very well constructed firearm. It is also light weight and very well balanced with the mid point balance being right over the action, as it should be. The internal parts of this lever action rifle cycle all 30-30 rounds through it like a clock, perfectly. Additionally, it is very easy to single load right into the chamber when you are shooting off of a bench and working up your best load. The trigger is always crisp and very predictable. Accuracy is Great with 170 grain bullets and an accurate reload.
Three shot groups around one inch at 100 yards are very acceptable. When you order #403 Weaver scope bases for this Mossberg, make sure you take the time to order two of them.
The language on the scope base ad is tricky. What you end up getting is one scope base per package. Order the scope base package twice. Shooting offhand, this rifle handles like a dream, like the rifle you always wished for, balanced perfectly with very little wobble and a crisp, predictable trigger sends your round reliably on its way. Choose a good, clear 3x9 scope and an easy carry rifle sling and you will be very proud of what you can do with your new Mossberg 464, 30-30 rifle.... I also like the expandable, cloth ammo carriers that fit over the butt stock. It is easy to predict that after you purchase this rifle, you will be so happy with it, that you will brag it up to all of your friends.

I bought this lever gun after contemplating the purchase for roughly a year. I figured that with the budget price tag, I was going to be in for probable disappointment. I was wrong. Now, I’m not at all a fan of the tang safety, as it feels extremely out of place for a lever gun and I’m not a fan of the lever grip pressure safety either. I prefer the traditional no safety but the booger hook, but if I have to have one, the Marlin style side safety works ok. Aside from my issues with the safety, this rifle is well worth the money. It’s light, accurate and has that good ol’ original Winchester lever gun feel to it. Take down is simple and cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore. I would recommend this rifle as a great starter 30-30 for the young ones, or as an additional back up for anyone who’s experienced.

Shot it after picking it up. Action and trigger are smooth. Loading gate was easy to depress to fill the magazine tube. I found that inserting rounds halfway into the gate/tube and using the next round to push each forward was the easiest way to load. All this was quite contrary to most video reviews I had seen on variations of mossberg lever variations. Maybe mossberg worked out the kinks? It's a handsome rifle.

My first 30-30 and having a lot of fun with this one. The magazine actually holds 7 and one in the chamber is a lot of follow up shots without reloading. The trigger is crisp and the sights are sturdy. The action is pretty stiff and may be better with more use and judicious lubrication. Sometimes is locks up a bit if the motion of the lever is not done quickly and smoothly. Chock this up to time will tell and maybe it will resolve itself with more use. One of the safety features is that the lever has to be squeezed up to allow the weapon to fire. This is annoying to me and with my hands, I find it better to take my fingers out of the lever and squeeze around the whole lever. Not a big deal but kind of irritating. Overall, I love the short size and ease of carry and maneuverability of this rifle and I am quite happy to have it and enjoy shooting it.

Wonderful gun right out of the box. Put two boxes of ammo (40 rnds) thru it. I have wanted a 30-30 lever action since I was a little boy. Great gun, great price and fast shipping.

This Mossberg "Winchester" is as good or better than the 94. Well balanced, and lightweight perfect "go to" gun for hunting. I love this gun.
