provides a dual coil spring assembly located in the extractor which
allows for the insertion and retention of the .40 caliber cartridge in
each chamber of the revolvers’ cylinder. (No moon clips required) This patented system allows the shooter ease of ejecting spent cartridges for immediate reloading.
Charter Arms has taken the difficulty of rimless loading and ejection to the simplicity of the rimmed cartridge in the revolver industry.

Another great experience purchasing a firearm from Bud’s. The Charter Arms Pitbull is a solid revolver. I’ve put about 50 rounds through it with no issues. I wanted another 40 caliber handgun to complement my S&W M&P pistol, and this revolver fit the bill.

The pistol came as expected, Chartar Arms are a little more rough in shape than most firearms manufacturers but seems to be a solid weapon. The finish is not the most desirable, there are casting marks all over the gun that could have been polished a little more but I did not purchase this gun to be a safe queen. It is very solid and has a solid lockup. Wanted a revolver that would house the 40s&w and not require moon clips. This gun does that. If you are expecting a beauty queen, better choose another revolver. Buds was great and love doing business with them.

Disappointed after trying to find this gun for two years Buds delivered quickly with no issues but fit and finish are sub par.The cylinder if difficult to open. The trigger is awful. Hopefully it will loosen up some after more use.Only put about 50 rounds through it so far. I dislike the painted Pit bull 40 S&W written on the barrel. Pictures I’ve seen online had a pit bull head engraved on the barrel. Not Bud’s fault.on the plus side it is small and fits in your front pocket easily. I have a Bulldog I’ve never had issues with and a mag pug that I t like Charter arms you get a D- on this one

Love this pistol! I cannot get over how it fits perfectly and has since the day I picked it up. Easy to load. Not huge.. It fires clean and accurately. The pistol is worth waiting for.

Excellent companion or BUG for any .40 S&W, can thumb rounds out of a mag right into the cylinder, really fast after training a little. None of the "Charter" problems, shoots straight and can buck a little with 180 hr loads-nothing new there. Ejects reliably, which was my worry. Usual Buds service-excellent and uncomplicated.

I had been looking for a 40 revolver and found the Charter Arms pit bull model. This is a well made pistol. Trigger has a clean pull and finish is excellent. Buds did a good job sending to my FFL. Will buy again from Buds.

Bud's did everything right. Charter Arms failed...at first. I purchased a Charter Arms 40 S&W and took it to the range to get it warmed up. After less than 100 rounds, I noticed I was no longer hitting the target. Upon reviewing my pistol, I discovered that my barrel had rotated about 10 degrees off center!! Less than 100 rounds into my purchase!! Now, Charter Arms has sent me a box and is paying for return shipping to fix/replace my pistol. However, I have to admit I am a bit disappointed. I am hoping that it turns out to be a Friday at 5pm production error and that my replacement works flawlessly.

I bought this revolver to complement my .40 caliber semi-autos. It is a well made revolver, not as finely finished a S&W but acceptable for a carry piece. It has functioned perfectly, the cartridge ejection system for the rimless .40 works well, no problems. You aren't however going to want to shoot this all day at the range, recoil is substantial but tolerable. All in all, glad I made the purchase.
