I got two of these and one of the 50521's and they work perfectly, I did upgrade the forend assembly with the "corncob" and steel tube action bar for more solid feel. I use them for plinking and skeet, never fired a shotgun enough to need a heatshield but it looks cool so all the short barreled 500's have one on, six now and one in the works.
I didnt' give it the best rating only because of the cheaper action bar assembly-but I trust them to protect my home no questions.

o.k. here it is, the fore-end is a one piece pump/action with the slides built in to it. if you want to remove it and put a TAC fore-end with rails or a grip you will end up spending about 100 bucks to do it. you will need to buy the fore-end you want then you will have to find the action slide assembly and retaining nut to match it. Mossberg and Bud's have NO info on the weapon, but it for all accounts is a MOSSY 500 with a CHEAP fore-end, heat shield and pistol grip thrown in just for laughs. don't forget to remove the plug when you get it

I use this shotgun for home defence, when used with the defence shot shells with pistol grip, the gun is easy to control and spot on target, or should I say spots on target. The goast ring scrued onto the heat sheald brings your eye on the brass front sight ( I recomend useing the buttstock ) if you're aiming with the goast ring !. Ilove the gun, bud's gun shop, and the shipping process. Thank You !
