Proprietary mags. The AR-10 mags lock in at the side this one locks at the front. You can get them from many suppliers for $40. Watch the video and you'll see where it locks up and it's not AR 10 style.

It takes a standard AR10 style magazine

The magazines are unique to the Howa 1500 Action Richard.
