Hi Jamin, Supreme shotshells are buffered. Buffering helps cushion shot upon firing allowing pellets to retain their uniformity and create tighter patterns. Both are excellent shells.

Jamin other than the 3" vs 3.5" and stock color/configuration their specifications are similar. the extreme is the 3.5 inch "super Magnum" while the supreme magnum is a 3 inch magnum that will function with both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. they are close in specs the 3.5 inch shell really came about due to the rules that made Steel shot mandatory for Duck hunting to be as effective steel had to be larger so the needed more room in the shotgun hull and made it 1/2 inch longer
