I see that it NY legal. But then read some say top loaded. Does it just have the small rotary mag that sticks in from below (10 round) . Or does it top load some weird top load way like a fixed mag 223 versions do?

This uses a 10rd "Rotary" Magazine that sticks in from below the bottom Magazine Well same as the standard 10/22 rifle Daniel.
