Marlowe. I would personally go for the Mossberg as it's attributes will outweigh the small penalty in overall weight between the two. Either will ultimately work but, I give the nod to Mossberg for Clay and Bird hunting.
1st let me say I am a Remington fan I own 4 1100s and shoot competition skeet but of the 2 I would go with the Mossberg in this case it has a better system of chokes and is set up more as a clays gun. a lot of the remington's that will work with 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells do not do well with Light loads. Please don't discount the old 1100 sporting which would be my choice over either especially the 1100 competition (out of stock) as the recoil reducing stock is well worth the extra money https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/69672/Remington+1100+COMP+12+30+PB14+AC+SYN
I would give the nod to Mossberg due to The quality issues lately with Remington
