You can, but you probably shouldn't do it too much if you want the gun to last. 1911s tend to be finely tuned machines. Push it too hard for too long and bits will start breaking.
The forged frame will handle the abuse from occasional use of +P better than a cast frame; however, if you plan to feed it a steady diet of +P you should replace the factory spring with a 20- or 22-lbs recoil spring to help minimize impulse on the slide and frame (mostly where it supports the guide rod). Use of a shock buff (Wilson Combat makes good ones) also helps reduce impulse.
