it will work with 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells it will fire the mini shells (1 3/4) but they will not work the action

Mark, this shotgun has a 3" Chamber and will handle 3" and shorter Shells such as 2.75" reliably Sir. Always test a batch of whatever Shells you intend to use to make sure it cycles reliably.
