You'll have to call Buds tomorrow after 9am EST at 1-859-368-0371 for certainty. It probably is CA safe, but its best to call for confirmation.

Dean H in the reviews far down the list (6 years ago) says he lives in CA and since he got one, they must be the A model.

Buds claims to not open new firearm packages so it will be your FFL that will probably be the point of verification. if Buds ships it, it probably will have it as I don't think Buds is willing to catch a violation over this.
