Yes, will work with 5.56 or .223

Allen, Yes .223 Remington will work fine in this sporting rifle. 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington are exact same dimension. And the chamber pressure is about 10,000 PSI less in the .223 then 5.56. So in a 5.56 sporting rifle .223 will be no problem

.223 will work in a .556 with no issues, this barell is rated for .556 (which is a higher pressure round) so it will handle the .223 with no problems.

Allen, yes sir, you can use .223 in a rifle rated for .556, just don't do it the other way around.
