Both are great rifles, I'd lean heavier towards the Ruger. The Ruger is MUCH more rifle, out-of-the-box. The chassis is MUCH nicer, the buttstock is built for the shooter, whereas the Savage needs heavy (and pricey) modifications to get there. The trigger on both is excellent, but I think the Ruger is a hair better. I have the Ruger and I dont see where the savage could be better
Joseph, I have been a Savage owner of many Rifles and may be biased but, Savage has been well known for out of the box quality build and highly accurate even with some of the budget models. I do own a couple of Rugers but with my same hand loads through both, my Savage consistently give me .25 MOA better accuracy. Same shooter, same ammunition, different Rifles. Cheers and stay safe!
