Hello Lewis, usually if a firearm is treated for hot loads (+p rounds) the item will state soo on the description. These rounds are loaded with a higher pressure that normal forged barrels cannot handle. I have spent time searching all over and can find no information strating it is safe to fire these loads. as a rifle it should be fine with +p loads but I would contact Winchester and ask Customer Service Department 1 800-333-3288.
