I bought this pistol the week before my whole state got shut down for the corona virus, so I've just now finally had an opportunity to shoot it. I ran 100 rounds of FMJ ammo through the gun with no glitches whatsoever. Just to make sure everything was running fine I used five magazines: 2 Remington OEM that came with the pistol, 2 Wilson Combat mags., and 1 ProMag. The pistol didn't seem to mind which magazine I used and everything worked very smoothly. Because of health restrictions the range was only allowing steel targets (6 in. plates on a target tree) at 25 yards. Standing with no supports I was able to hit the plates on a consistent basis (misses were the result of operator error not the gun--as my grandfather used to say "it's a poor workman who blames his tools"). My only complaint with this pistol is with the grips that come from the factory. I had already handled one of these at a local gun shop so I knew what I was getting into. The first thing I did was remove the original grips and replace them with another set of G10 grips that I already had. In my opinion if you shoot many rounds with the original grips they'll chew up your hands. Other than that, this is probably the best 1911 I've ever owned (and the commander size is my all-time favorite).

Very nice pistol, it's my 4th 1911 and I put 300 rounds through it today with no hangups. Im very impressed with Remington, it is my first remington handgun. All the reviews over the years let me jump and grab one. Buds was great on the transaction and delivery. The forward serrations was the big selling point and the slide glides smooth as silk. It was my first fiberoptic sighted pistol and it is very accurate. I would not hesitate to worry about another 1911 from remington. It is a great gun. Also a very nice looking gun. 2 thumbs up.

It arrived today and I've already ran 300 flawless rounds down the pipe. The trigger is very good for the price point with very little creep. The fit is tight and the finish is flawless. Probably one of the best out of the box guns I've purchased. Very accurate, little recoil and very well made. An absolute joy to shoot and not to bad to carry. Definitely recommend this gun to anyone looking for a 1911. And you can't beat this price!

This is one of my favorite guns! I’ve dressed it up with some chrome and custom grips and of course a chrome magazine to boot! It shoots dead on and is easy to shoot. The size is perfect for carry and of course you can’t beat a good ole 1911 45 ! Beautiful and totally reliable.

I have shot it and cleaned once so far. Its a nicely fitted 1911 that comes with a decent trigger right out of the box. I didn't like the grips it came with, to wide and abrasive for me so I changed them. The fiber optic sight is right on at 15 yards. Shooting at 25 yards you can use the top of it like a standard post at center of mass.
