Its striker-fired system, integrated trigger safety, manual thumb safety, magazine disconnect, and chamber inspection port provide multiple layers of carry-focused safety. The glass-filled nylon frame keeps the pistol easy to carry, while the 3.12-inch barrel and six-inch overall length support a compact profile. For an entry level...
For an entry level everyday carry, this Ruger is an excellent choice. Light, accurate, manageable and most importantly.....reliable!! The internal design is a little more complex than say a Glock or Sig but then again those guns are hundreds more. For an economic shooter I would choose Ruger over any comparatively priced sub 9

A very satisfactory...
A very satisfactory purchase. It is a bit more comfortable to shoot than I thought it might be. I carried for a long time as my EDC. The rounded edges make it much less prone to snagging on clothes. However, being a semi auto, it is prone to collect lint, so regular checking and cleaning is recommended depending on how deeply you carry it.
