The Beretta APX Centurion is a midsize 9mm striker-fired pistol designed for dependable carry, duty, and range use. Its serialized chassis frame and interchangeable polymer grip housing support straightforward maintenance and a personalized fit. The low-profile slide and snag-resistant profile promote smooth holster presentation, while the reversible magazine release and ambidextrous slide catch accommodate right- or left-handed users. A built-in trigger safety helps prevent unintentional discharge if the pistol is dropped. The pistol also features adjustable high-definition 3-dot sights, a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, and a 15+1-round capacity. This Blue/Black model includes three 15-round magazines.

I've owned Sig, HK,...
I've owned Sig, HK, Glock, Colt, Springfield, etc…and after a lot of research (YouTube, articles, owners) I took the leap and chose the APX over the Steyr M9-A2. I was able to play with the Steyr and despite the great (for me) ergonomics I chose the Beretta at half the cost.\r I'm very happy with my choice.\r The APX with the midsized blackstrap fits my XLG size hands well. Points very naturally, like a 229, and the checkering is just right. The slide serrations are unique and I like the look, BUT they're very shallow and not conducive to wet hand use. I knew this going into the purchase and I remedied the issue with well placed sections of skateboard tape.\r I've put appx 650 rounds of various mfg ammo through the pistol and it's digested everything, nary a hiccup, including the notorious Speer "flying ashtrays ".\r Cons- the trigger was not gritty, creepy or stagey but was a tad heavy at over 6 lbs. Looking at the design I found the sear lug on the firing pin had definite machining marks still visible. I suspect these marks were the cause of the pull weight as the sear would catch on them. The pull gradually became better as more rounds went through and is now around 5 lbs and no "ledge" feel.\r Am I happy? You bet! For the price this Italian made pistol tics off all the right boxes.
