This will be a long...
This will be a long review so I'll start with the bottom line. This is a great gun and I'd recommend it to anyone. You won't be sorry you bought it. A word of caution however. The "Ultra" version of this pistol has an oversize and extended mag release. It's handy at the range but may not be the best for EDC. The standard version (p1) lacks this feature and is cheaper too. . It should be fine for EDC. The looks, fit, and finish of this gun reeks of quality. The largest of the back straps for the grip fit s my very large hand perfectly with a full mag the balance is just right , with low recoil and muzzle flip and a very good single action trigger this gun to control and shoot. Speaking of controls they are well placed and ambidextrous The double action trigger is a bit heavy and travel is long but it's smooth and doesn't stack. Trigger reset is very short and makes double taps easy and accurate. The sights are nothing to brag about but they are on par with most factory sights. They are very low profile and snagging shouldn't be a problem. So far I have fired 150 rounds through the gun without a problem.50 rounds of Browning 115gr FMJ and 100 rounds of Magtech 124gr FMJ. Bud"s WEB sight doesn't give many specs so hear are some approximate numbers. 15 round mags, 3.7 inch barrel, 7.4 inches long, 1.25 inches thick, and about 5.25 inches high with a mag in place. About 25 Oz in weight. Much has been said about how hard it is to put this gun back together once it has been disassembled. There is a steep learning curve so I'll attempt to get you started on the right path. First put the barrel in place in the slide. It should be all the way forward in the slide with the barrel sticking out the front. The large groove in the chamber area should be facing down (visible to you). Keep the rear of the slide higher than the front so that gravity keeps the barrel in place. Put the spring in place on the guide rod and start the guide rod through the hole in the slide. Now keeping the nose of the gun pointed down at an angle take the slide in one hand and the grip/frame in the other move the slide all the way back toward the grip until the spring is fully compressed. then tilt the rear of the slide down over the slide rails. At this point it may look like you have the slide in place but the slide won't go forward. Not to worry. Just squeeze the slide down onto the frame just a bit . You'll hear a slight click and the slide will move into battery. This may sound complicated but after doing it once or twice it won't take more than 30 seconds. Check around and you'll find holsters are available for this gun. Bud's doesn't want us to talk about other products in our reviews so I'll leave it at that. Once again this is a great gun. It's as good or better that many others at this price point. It's an eye catcher that everyone at the range will want to ask about and shoot.
