The gun shoots great....
The gun shoots great. It's accurate, has a tight slide-to-frame fit, and feels good in the hand. Also, the sights look great and are easy to pick up. Unfortunately, most of the parts are cast and look the part. Just about everything that has serrations on it have very poor grip, especially the hammer, which is hard to cock already because of the heavy spring. The checkering on the magazine release is a joke, it might as well be smooth. The trigger is very heavy and has some grit to it, which i assume is because of the magazine disconnect. The grips look and feel really cheap; the stain looks bad and there were some really sharp edges on them, which jabbed my hand when i shot it. All in all, i think it's a good gun. Iv'e put over a thousand rounds off ball ammo through it with only a few malfunctions. My only real issue with the gun is the price. It's a pretty plain gun and the quality doesn't match the price; browning needs to come way down on their MSRP; I felt like i got way more value when i bought my series 70 Colt 1911, and it's cheaper. Also, the service from Bud's was great. They also have the best price i could find on the Hi Powers.

Bud's service...
Bud's service continues to be outstanding. I emailed items required and within two hours if had gone from order received to processing to shipping. A day and a half later I picking it up from my FFL. It can not get any better. The gun is finished very well. Function at the range was perfect. The trigger is too heavy which is more or less normal for the Hi Power design but a trigger job will improve it.
