Description
Product Overview
The Century Arms Canik55 TP-9 is a full-size, polymer-framed 9mm semi-automatic pistol built around a striker-fired operating system. Its four-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is black chrome lined for corrosion resistance and durability, while the steel slide and other exterior metal components feature a protective poly coating. An ambidextrous, top-slide-mounted decocker supports safe handling, and the adjustable three-dot sighting system provides a clear sight picture. The front accessory rail accepts compatible lights and lasers, and the cocking indicator provides a visual status reference.

This is my everyday...
This is my everyday carry, and proud of it. This TP9 is a better weapon than most may think. There are a lot of very good manufactures in Turkey. They've upgraded to TP9V2 and TP9SF. Had to cleaned all the cosmoline off but put 250 rounds of federal hydro shock 9mm and it rocks. Will recommend

Canik must use the...
Canik must use the cheapest springs they can find. I have had both the magazine spring and on of the springs in the trigger go bad. The trigger spring broke after somewhere around 400 rounds! Century doesn't even have replacement springs to top it all off. Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from Canik and Century Arms.

It's a decent gun, but...
It's a decent gun, but for me, not a great gun. Starting with the positives, it's a nice looking gun, it comes with some nice accessories and it fit my hand really well. Like many lower priced guns, the fit and finish weren't the best, but they weren't bad either. Having magazines (Mecgar) that hold 18 rounds is a nice bonus. But I had problems with FTE's and FTF's early on, a problem that didn't really go away. Top that with a trigger that just didn't work for me. The break was not very predictable, and in many cases, I had to pull the trigger to the wall before it would finally break. In the end, I chose to sell it rather than hold onto it. Maybe the one I got was a lemon, I don't know for certain. I do think that they are a good value and a decent gun, so long as you don't experience problems like I did. Maybe I'll try one again someday, but for now, I'll pass.
