I've been in the...
I've been in the market for an AR 9 and researching many options for a while. Settling on the CMMG Guard is the best choice that could be made. Although it is more expensive than many other options, you do get the Radial Delayed Blowback System which is only offered by CMMG. All others are just plain blowback systems. CMMG's system allows the bolt carrier group to be designed and behave like any other AR mil spec bolt groups. It also allows the upper assembly to utilize other AR mil spec components such as charging handles. The Guard is well made and quality is above average. The higher price is due to the patented blowback technology which makes sense. The only complaint I have is the pistol has sharp edges on the upper and lowers, as if CMMG didn't really take the time to smooth them out. This is especially true of the Keymod rail; it has very sharp edges and isn't very pleasant to grab onto. Other than that, this is an awesome pistol and shoots like a dream. I have the Holosun 510C red dot mounted and the Guard is very accurate. I believe this is the best AR9 on the market today.

Received the CMMG...
Received the CMMG 99A51DC MkG Guard AR Pistol Semi-Automatic 9mm Luger. Everything looked great. I installed Magpul flip-up sights, did a thorough inspection, oiled it up, and headed to the range. Was able to sight it in quickly and put a couple hundred rounds through it. No problems whatsoever. This is a very fun gun to shoot. I set up some 8" plates at 25 yards- the accuracy was right on and the gun swings nicely through transitions. Had a ball with it. My only disappointment was the MagPul B.A.D. lever I wanted to install, will not work. I would need to do some modifications to the lower to be able use the B.A.D. lever. I am very satisfied with my purchase so this point. 200 rounds through it to date.

I received my Guard 2...
I received my Guard 2 days ago and put 300 rounds through it today. The firearm functions flawlessly. Overall I'm very happy with it. The radially delayed blowback system runs smoothly and recoil is much softer than a straight blowback 9mm AR. The mag release is especially nice and the last round bolt hold open works reliably. The finish on the upper/lower is milspec standard, not good not bad. The charging handle is milspec standard plain Jane. The factory trigger is also milspec standard. I replaced mine with a Geissele G2S-E and it works 100%. My biggest complaint with the Guard is the CMMG handguard. It's got some really sharp edges and IMO CMMG could do a lot better. Sending the handguards through a tumbler would really soften the edges and wouldn't cost them much. I'll probably change my handguard out for something smoother. Otherwise, I'd say the Guard is a good buy.
