Its five-inch barrel, steel construction, Series 70 firing system, and single-action operation provide the classic Government-size 1911 configuration. The pistol features an upswept beavertail grip safety, an external thumb safety, a serrated front strap, complete dehorning, wood grips, and Gunsite branding. Fixed standard sights support a familiar sight picture for range use, training, and defensive applications.

Purchased on 08/12 received at my local FFL on 08/19. Process for shipping and delivery was as described. Gun arrived in condition described and was new in box. This particular firearm is excellent. The fit and finish are excellent. The gun fired over 100 rounds today through 11 different magazines flawlessly. Ran light for caliber loads flawlessly but seriously unexpected part was the accuracy. 8 holes touching one another offhand at 15 yards. The slim grips and short trigger take some time to get used to for bigger hand but the gun carries very nice IWB. It's just nice. If you want a safe gun to show off by cabot's take on classic government model. If you want a gun to carry everyday and do it's job buy a colt. This is my second one and both have outperformed my DW and SA. LOVE THIS MODEL.
