The Colt XSE Government is a full-size 1911-style semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Its forged stainless steel frame and slide are paired with a forged stainless steel 5-inch barrel for a durable, corrosion-resistant configuration. Novak Low Mount Carry Sights with dots provide a clear conventional sight picture, while front and rear slide serrations support positive slide manipulation. The pistol features an extended single-side tactical thumb safety, an upswept beavertail grip safety with palm swell, an enhanced hammer, a three-hole aluminum trigger, and a full-length guide rod. Rosewood double-diamond grips provide a secure, traditional hold.

Beautiful 1911. The fit and finish is exceptional and it has a fabulous trigger. It has performed flawlessly with every make of ammo I have shot through it and it has been very accurate. Novak sights on this gun are easy to see. This is a very nice heirloom pistol.

I have owned this gun...
I have owned this gun for a couple years now and must say this is by far the favorite of the four 1911's I've owned. The performance has been flawless with several hundred rounds down the tube. I shoot this gun very well, and I love the look of it. Any time I pull it out around shooting buddies it gets attention and compliments. This is a KEEPER!...
This is a KEEPER! Pretty accurate, excellent balance and one good-looking Colt... and for the money. I'm sure there are more pricier, more loaded/upgraded varieties of 1911 Colts but this one is for keeps. Buds gave me a good deal... this one's, nor any other Colt if not mistaken, not even available in "soft-target" CA anymore.
