The CZ 75 SP-01 is a full-size 9mm pistol built on CZ’s proven double-action/single-action platform. Its corrosion-resistant black Polycoat finish, extended beavertail, and contoured grip geometry provide a secure and comfortable hold, while checkering on the front and back straps helps maintain control during rapid fire. An integral 1913 accessory rail supports compatible lights and lasers, and the steel frame helps reduce perceived recoil. This law-enforcement configuration includes factory night sights and two 18-round magazines.

I took this to the...
I took this to the range and shot 500 rounds through it. It was initially stiff DA, SA is nice, but the reset is a little longer than I like. After shooting the 500 rounds I am confident in this firearm, there were no malfunctions. I picked up a extra mag, holster, mag holster, and I was off to an IDPA match. It performed excellent in my first match with it. I scored better than I ever had at this match. I recommend this pistol, I love it. Like all new pistols I buy.....this is now my favorite!

Ok, curiosity killed...
Ok, curiosity killed the cat. I obtained an SP-01 and here are my thoughts after 300 rounds. 1, Other reviewers are right, it is heavy. While it may have less muzzle flip, it doesn't have a dramatically different recoil impulse than my 19. 2, The trigger is not that great but it could be good with a little work. It is gritty and you don't get the same trip every time. The dramatic curve of the trigger pinches the fire out of my finger after several rounds. 3, It is big. Now I know it is full size, but I can't reach the safety without rotating my grip and I have to use my non-firing hand to actuate the slide release. 4, The sights are big bright non-precise sights. With my astigmatism, I don't see them well. Yesterday I shot it side by side with my G48, G19, and G22 from a rested position. It did not shoot better groups than my G19 at 15yds or 25 yds, but was dramatically better at 50. Conclusion, if I keep it, I will have to get slim grips and new sights immediately. To follow would be an action job at Cajun. Once these are done, I think it would be impressive. The investment would also be impressive. The plan right now, trade or sell. If I can't get most of my money back, I'll keep it and make the improvements over time and try to make lemonade.
