Buds Guns is my go-to...
Buds Guns is my go-to provider of firearms for me and my family. I have ordered several firearms over the years and have been completely satisfied with Buds service. When I was looking for a Dan Wesson 1911 RZ-45, Buds was the first place I looked. As usual, Buds had the pistol in stock and forwarded it to my FFL in a timely manner. I purchased the gun new and went about the break-in process, cleaning the pistol after every 50 rounds. Immediately, I noticed that the Dan Wesson mags that came with the pistol had resistance when placed into the mag well. The mags would also not release and would get stuck half way out of the mag well. I thought because of the "tight tolerances" that the pistol just needed to be broken-in. I wasn't 100 rounds into the "break-in" period when the first round in the mag would not load when I racked the slide. This occurred more frequently until the first round would then get jammed in the slide. \\r\ \\r\ At my local range I asked one of the employees to take a look at the pistol to see if he could determine the issue. He noticed that the top of both mags were flared, catching on the bottom of the mag well when inserted causing the first round to nose dive. The spring in the plunger it self was not strong enough to maintain the integrity of the top round. At his suggestion, I called Dan Wesson's service department and I explain the problem. I did not call Dan Wesson with an attitude and merely wondered how to resolve the problem. The customer service employee I spoke with was more than rude to me. I was told to put the mag in a vice and "pinch the top of the mag so it does not flare because some mags need to be tuned." I asked the guy, "you mean that I spend $1,300.00 on a pistol and the new mags that come with it need to be tuned?" Well, if I did not want to tune the new mags myself I could send them in and they would take a look at it. \\r\ \\r\ Lesson learned. I should have saved my money and purchased an Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, or a Nighthawk Custom. No more Dan Wessons.

Love this 1911! Dan...
Love this 1911! Dan Wesson is king of the hill for "bang for your buck" pistols, and the fit and finish on this gun is absolutely superb. Better than some other 1911s costing twice the price.
