A couple of weeks ago...
A couple of weeks ago I saw a listing for this Glock 17 Gen 4 police trade-in, and couldn't pass up the price of $446, especially with all the craziness in the Glock world with earlier models now. I owned one of these, but sold it eight years ago. I decided to use the Buy it and Try it option, but this one won't be going back to Bud's, LOL. CONS: This particular pistol was functional and had some surface wear, but it was VERY dirty and not well-maintained by either the officer who used it or the armorer that was supposed to maintain it. When I picked it up at the store , the counter person's first words were "let me get something to wipe that off with." The internals were soaked in oil and the striker channel was so gummed up that you couldn't hear anything when you shook it. But nothing showed physical damage and it passed all function checks, so I took it home to clean up. PROS: Once it had been detail stripped , cleaned, and I did an armorers inspection, I replaced all of the springs (all OEM Glock parts!) and then took it to the range to fire. It shot well but I was not quite happy with the trigger reset, so the trigger housing mechanism and trigger bar connector were also replaced. I carried it in the woods this morning and fired two magazines at the end of the hike, with no further trigger reset issues. The surface wear was not as bad as I had feared and was easily touched up with a little blue. The Glock night sights are still bright even compared to a set I replaced last year, which is a bonus. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Top notch. The pistol was in the store for pick up the day after I ordered it and the paperwork process and Bud's counter folks were smooth and easy as always. I drove up from Richmond on a Friday night and I was gone for a total of 90 minutes. Smooth! SUMMARY: The pistol was a good price and is a good value. Bud's customer service was excellent. For a new or inexperienced shooter, this pistol might have provided some frustration, But for someone who's been previously certified as a Glock armorer and had the armorer's manual & spare parts already in stock, it provided a nice project that I am willing to carry with me anywhere now. 🙂

Gun was definitely...
Gun was definitely used but was taken care of. Has some holster wear but you have to look close to notice it. After a clean and oil it looks great. Came with 2 clips a box and paperwork. Great service as always from buds.
