The Kimber Micro 9 TLE...
The Kimber Micro 9 TLE is a well made pistol. I held other Kimber Micro 9 pistols before purchasing. The Micro 9 felt right for my average sized hands. It is a great intermediate, small sized pistol, somewhere in between a pocket and subcompact pistol. The tolerances are nice and tight but still very functional. One feature that I read about it but really impressed, is the grips. The grips were better than expected and provided an excellent grip. The front checkering on the front provides comfort and grip for the middle and ring finger. The gun shoots very nice, minimal recoil. Fun and easy to shoot. There were other similar guns that I considered like the Springfield 911, but am happy with choosing the Micro 9 TLE. The only minor dissatisfaction or complaint is that Kimber only provides one magazine, the extended with the purchase of the pistol. At least it came with the extended but wish it would of came with. Kimber has a great reputation of making good firearms and now I am a believer. If you are looking for a mid-size compact pistol for concealed carry, take a hard look at the Micro 9 series, especially the TLE.

Unfortunately I have...
Unfortunately I have had nothing but issues from this firearm. It failed to eject spent casings and caused a double feed. I have tried multiple ammo brands and grains and even several hollow point options. Looks like it is going to Kimber for repairs. In my opinion it is not a reliable self defense option.

I'd been looking for a...
I'd been looking for a backup piece for a while and was looking for something small, reliable and light weight. My primary carry weapon is .45 ACP, but the weight increases with the larger round and that led me to look for a 9MM. After a lot of investigation and comparison, I chose a Kimber Micro 9 TLE. I own several other Kimber's, all have been excellent firearms and filled the need/use intended. The 1911 design feels familiar in my hand, though there are some differences between this firearm and it's bigger brothers. The performance related piece is the trigger. It's not a typical 1911 trigger and took a few magazines to get used to. Once comfortable with the firearm, it is relatively accurate for a weapon this size. The feel is good and even with its diminutive size, the 9mm chambering and aggressive grip make it easy to control. The sight picture is great, it's very easily concealable and it is actually exactly what I was looking for in a backup. The other major difference from a typical 1911 is this pistol doesn't have a backstrap safety. That's not unique, but something to consider. Keep in mind....this thing is small. If you can, definitely put your hands on one before buying. If you've got big hands, you may struggle with this pistol. It's accurately labeled 'Micro'. This does make it an incredibly concealable pistol.
