Product Overview
The Kimber Ultra TLE II is a compact 1911-style pistol chambered in .45 ACP and designed for concealed carry. Its lightweight aluminum frame reduces carry weight while the steel slide and match-grade barrel provide the durability and precision expected from a Kimber 1911. The 3-inch barrel and 6.8-inch overall length make it easy to carry, while the 7+1 capacity offers useful onboard firepower. Meprolight Tritium 3-dot night sights support rapid target acquisition in low-light conditions. A crisp single-action trigger, extended thumb safety, and beavertail grip safety complete the proven 1911 control layout.

I made it to the range...
I made it to the range yesterday and shot this 3" 1911. I was very pleased with the accuracy and the easy sight acquisition of this little beauty. The fit and finish are top notch on this pistol! I have several 1911's and they all function very well, but I have to say this one has the most exacting tolerances and absolutely no rattles anywhere. I shot 80 rounds thru it and it ran flawlessly, which kinda surprised me based on some reviews I've read. I'm wondering if the bad reviews may be due to "limp wristing" because my brother and I both have new Kimbers that function perfectly. This is my first Kimber and I look forward to getting my next one after seeing the quality workmanship in this one. The night sights are excellent and the rubber grip feels great in hand. I like the front and back strap checkering too. Very nice feed ramp on this barrel too, which does its job. The take down tool is easy to use, so don't let the negative reviews about that dissuade you if you like this Ultra TLE II or any of the Kimber Ultra carry pistols. Buds price is very fair on this gun and their shipping was very fast; I ordered on Sunday and it was at my FFL on Wed from Ky to NC. Many purchases from Buds and I'm a pleased customer.

I own a full size 1911...
I own a full size 1911 and carry a Glock 22 at work. When I'm off-duty this is my carry gun. Looks great, feels great and shoots phenomenal. This thing gives my full size 1911 a run for its money at the range when it comes to accuracy. This is one gun I never leave home without!!

After a 80 days of...
After a 80 days of layaway, I finally had my first Kimber. While the weapon operates flawlessly, I learned the hard way to inspect the weapon THOROUGHLY before accepting it from my FFL. On first inspection, I noticed the front checkering showed some slight damage on one side, with the finish showing bare metal. Knowing how hard these guns are to come by and knowing that Bud's had been out of stock since I first put mine on layaway (and still out of stock 2 months later), I decided the wear didn't warrant sending it back. It was only when I got it home that I realized the damage was more extensive, with chips in the finish on the trigger guard and handle... all on the same side of the gun. I'd be more upset if I wasn't already planning on using it as my daily carry, which would eventually show wear anyway. Just be warned, the last couple of guns I've purchased from Bud's have lacked the quality finish you would expect when buying NIB. You can look at my S&W 686 review if you'd like another example. That said, I will continue to purchase from Bud's as their service and prices are unbeatable... I'll just be a lot more diligent in my inspections.
