The Para Ordnance Elite Carry is a compact 1911-style pistol built for discreet carry while retaining the handling characteristics of a full-size classic. Its hand-assembled construction combines a stainless steel slide with a lightweight aluminum frame, while the three-inch match-grade ramped barrel supports dependable performance in a compact package. A skeletonized match-grade trigger, EGW heavy-duty extractor, beavertail grip safety, and manual thumb safety provide refined control and familiar 1911 operation. The pistol is completed with cocobolo double-diamond grips and a two-dot rear sight paired with a green fiber optic front sight for fast target acquisition.

After years...
After years considering a 3" 1911 style pistol, I finally bit the bullet on the Para USA Elite Carry. I must say, after 100 rounds (only had it 1 day) I am impressed, so far. With the 2 Check-Mate 6- round mags it comes with, this thing chambered, fired and ejected every round with no trouble whatsoever, locking open upon the last case ejecting. I was shooting my 200 gr. hand loads, and expected the recoil to be greater, but it is softer shooting than a G36. The finish on the gun is superb, it is built tight, and the only criticism (albeit minor) I have, is that the trigger has just a little more take up than I'd prefer, and just a bit of creep, which in all fairness, may get better with more rounds downrange. The trigger is still certainly very serviceable, especially considering the role it was designed for. On a target, offhand at 21', I was keeping most rounds in a 3-4" circle, although it was duplicating lots of holes. If you are on the fence about the U.S.A. made Para Elite Carry, rest easy, the quality is there, and with the exception of the minor trigger gripe, it is on par with my Kimber Pro Carry. If it keeps up the good work, and i dont doubt it will, it will definitely be getting a (looong) turn in the permanent carry rotation. Buds delivered in just a couple days and the transaction with them and my local FFL was seamless and pleasant.

Just picked up my Para...
Just picked up my Para Elite Carry from my FFL, went home, cleaned it and went back to the range. This is my first 45 and I wanted to do things the right way. I shot 250 rounds consisting of 230gr hardball from federal, UMC, and S & B. Also 50 +p lawman flat nose fmj AND 200gr +p speer gold dot HP and 230gr Federal HST +p. I'm telling you this because after 2 hours and no oiling, I experienced ZERO failures of any kind. Every round loaded, fed, and went bang. This gun is very tight but I think the heavy double captured recoil spring absorbs a lot of the 45's punch. I would say recoil is about the same as my sig 938. A lot of people say be wary of 3" 1911's. This gun disassembles more like a cz than a 5" 1911. One thing to complain about and be aware of, this is the shortest 1911 I can find, there are NO aftermarket grips or mainspring housings for this gun. It is smaller than the defender. If you want a pistol to customize, get the officer/defender sized one. If you want the smallest, Thin 45 you can get your pinky on, this is it. I will be buying from Bud's again and It will probably be another Para Ordinance.
