Its Commander-length 4.25-inch match-grade barrel balances practical carry dimensions with the proven performance of the 1911 platform. The pistol features a stainless steel frame and slide, an oversized flared ejection port, and wide front and rear cocking serrations for reliable manipulation. A red fiber optic front sight pairs with a Novak-style adjustable rear sight for fast target acquisition and precise aiming. The extended beavertail grip safety, adjustable skeletonized trigger, ambidextrous manual safety, and dark laminate grips complete a refined factory configuration. Two 8-round magazines are included.

Totally marvelous...
Totally marvelous 1911. I like it a lot. My ffl guy liked it so much he wanted to buy it from me. No deal. It's absolutely gorgeous gun. Perfect size. There is just nothing wrong with it. Shoots smooth as silk. I stripped it and was expecting to polish some surfaces in it. I did not have to. Remington has raised the bar in quality for $600 1911's. This is the kind of fit and finish I would expect in much more expensive guns. I was surprised and quite happy about this. I will be looking at more Remington's in the future. Especially 1911's. Highly recommended.
