The Remington R1 Enhanced 1911 is a .45 ACP single-action, semi-automatic pistol built on the classic 1911 platform and upgraded for performance and presentation. It features a 5-inch match grade steel barrel with a Target Crown, a bead-blasted Ionbond carbon steel slide with mirror-finished sides, and a dovetail 2-dot rear with a fiber optic front sight for fast target acquisition. The Enhanced platform also includes an adjustable skeletonized match trigger, an enhanced hammer, and a beavertail grip safety with a wide extended thumb safety. Pearl/ivory-style grips complete the look, and the package includes two magazines.

Gave it four stars because the photo of the gun on here and what you actually get are two different things slightly. The side of the slide in the picture appear to be a stainless finish. But it's actually a darker blued glossy finish. Still looks pretty good, but was a little disappointed. Would have rather just got the all black Enhanced R1. As for the range report, I shot almost 200 rounds and had 4 failure to feeds. I don't believe it was the gun itself, I think it was one of the 8 round Remington mags. The reason why is cause the gun fired flawlessly with my buddy's 1911 mags...one of them being a Wilson Combat, and the others being cheap 7 round surplus mags. Also, after getting home and cleaning the gun, I noticed a very slight area on the slide serations where the finish was coming off. Called Remington the next day, and gave me the option to have the gun refinished at anytime, and sent me 2 more magazines free of charge. I don't even have to send back the old ones. Remington's customer service seems to be top notch thus far. Overall, it's very accurate, tight fitted, well made 1911. No regrets except for the finish I was talking about.

I just received this...
I just received this gun yesterday and immediately put 350 of my own reloads through it. The gun and the magazines it came with performed flawlessly. Not to mention mention fact that the Pistol is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect fit and finish, superb craftsmanship, but most of all, very reliable. Reliability is THE most important factor for me.
