The Ruger EC9s is a slim, lightweight 9mm pistol designed for discreet everyday carry and personal protection. Its striker-fired action provides a short, light trigger pull, while the through-hardened steel slide and one-piece glass-filled nylon grip frame deliver durable performance in a compact package. The checkered grip frame promotes a secure hold, and the included finger grip extension floorplate can be installed for added comfort. Integral sights are machined into the slide and feature glare-reducing rear-facing serrations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: Ruger EC9s Silver/Black 9mm Pistol I carried the original LC9 with me for years while traveling across the U.S. I always appreciated its slim, compact size, which made it ideal for concealed carry. That said, I eventually sold it due to the notoriously bad trigger on the Gen 1 LC9—it was rough enough to be a dealbreaker over time. Fast forward a few years, I had a chance to shoot the Ruger EC9s, and I was pleasantly surprised by the improved trigger. It's a noticeable upgrade that makes the shooting experience much more enjoyable and manageable. For both nostalgia and practical carry reasons, I decided to pick up an EC9s for myself—and overall, I'm glad I did. I've put a few range sessions through it, and so far it's been mostly reliable. However, one ongoing issue I've noticed (both with the LC9 and now the EC9s) is with feeding certain hollow point rounds. Occasionally, the hollow point will catch on the feed ramp or get hung up at the lip. This isn't a dealbreaker, but it's definitely something to be aware of. My advice: practice with your chosen carry ammo, and if you run into feeding issues, ball ammo is a safe fallback. All in all, the EC9s is a solid, affordable carry option with a compact footprint and a big improvement over the original LC9. Just make sure you verify reliability with your preferred defensive load before trusting it for EDC.
