A: Yes, this pistol is a 2nd Gen. (CPX-1 means the pistol has a manual safety and the CPX-2 means the pistol has no manual safety). You can tell a Gen 2 by the hand grip design. Gen 2 top and Gen 1 bottom here : http://i51.tinypic.com/5l9kbs.jpg

A: Gary, yes, The CPX-2 has a small internal hammer that can be seen moving as you pull the trigger, and it has a true double-action-only trigger pull. The pistol does have second-strike capability and an inertial firing pin safety.
