The SCCY CPX-2 shoots...
The SCCY CPX-2 shoots good once you get accustom to the long continuous DAO trigger pull. I rather like the DAO trigger, though it is a tad long, and love the no safety and 'hidden' hammer. I have had this gun for 13 months, so I am not writing this after my first trip to the range with it.\\r\ \\r\ The first day I shot it, it seemed rather snappy and I assumed that was due to small size and light weight (which no doubt contribute); but I had just finished shooting a bunch of rounds through my full size 9mm and was already tired. Since then, I've shot the CPX-2 first and it is good. I've shot 115gr to 147gr bullets; round nose FMJ, self-defense HP, and blunt nose FMJ that replicate the HP nose profile. I do not shoot P or P with it. It does fine if you do not limp wrist it, as I have done on occasion shooting weak side single hand.\\r\ \\r\ My concern is with 10 rounds in the magazine the mag spring seems to exert so much pressure on the top round that it may be slow to achieve battery or may not get the round into battery (especially with HP or blunt nose rounds). Therefore I do not practice 10 1 with self-defense rounds. I have heard the SCCY will fix this but have been too lazy to send it back. It has become less of an issue with use, but it should never have been an issue (and I shouldn't be too lazy to send it to SCCY who reportedly has excellent support). I also had some old Sellier & Bellot rounds that 2 of 100 did not fire on the first attempt but fired on restrike. I am going to blame hard S&B primers as I have had no problems with Federal, Speer, Hornaday, Remington green box, or Winchester white box.
