This firearm is a gem....
This firearm is a gem. I will start by saying that I am not a good pistol shooter (yet) nor do I find shooting them more fun than rifles. I always just viewed it as something necessary to be proficient at due to CC. This pistol has changed all that. Not only is this firearm incredibly fun to shoot, it is very accurate and recoil is very manageable due to porting which leads to quicker follow up shots which adds to the fun factor. I have always taken my time between shots to realign/adjust as needed but this pistol makes it very easy to stay on target and keep sending rounds down range. I was easily hitting a steel torso silhouette at 20 yards where I wanted. Head shots on this this thing were about 5"x6" and I was hitting it every time with ease. The fiber optic sights were dead on without any need for adjustment. They are very brights and a pleasure to use in low light conditions. Trigger is very smooth and has a very crisp break and very short reset. It is near perfect, at least in my limited opinion. Far better than any stock trigger for pistols I have shot other than 1911s. I will be honest and say that the first magazine was a mess, about 4 FTE and feeding issues using 115 grain Federal target ammo. I was very dejected at first but loaded up another to see if the problem persisted. Only 2 FTE on the second mag. The casings are getting stuck in the slide which told me that the slide wasn't traveling back far enough and closing on spent brass before the shell could eject. I attributed this to the guns long slide, needing to be broke in and possibly weaker lighter bullets. I continued on to the third mag without any FTE and so on for another 100 rounds. Other than the federals I used Winchester 115 grain active duty ammo that is far hotter than the federal. I believe around 1300 fps and 450 ft lbs energy. It ran flawless in this M&P. It probably prefers a heavier/hotter round for cycling but after the first couple mags of the federal it had no more issues. It had a lot of carbon near the porting but was easy to clean up. This is now one of my favorites range toys and will most likely transition into HD after reliability is tested further. I would recommend this highly to anyone without hesitation. It was worth every penny.
