The Smith & Wesson M&P9 Performance Center Ported is a full-size semi-automatic pistol engineered for dependable performance and enhanced shootability. Its factory ported barrel and slide help reduce muzzle rise, while the polished stainless steel barrel, enhanced trigger, and adjustable trigger stop support precise, consistent shooting. HI VIZ adjustable fiber optic sights provide a bright, fast-acquiring sight picture in a variety of lighting conditions. The pistol features a high-strength polymer frame reinforced by a rigid stainless steel chassis and includes three interchangeable palmswell grip inserts for a more personalized fit. Two 17-round magazines are included.

Very nice looking and...
Very nice looking and handling gun. I used 150 rounds of CCI Blazer Brass FMJ (115 Grain) and 50 rounds of Federal Hydro-Shok JHP (115 Grain) ammo to test it out at the range. No failures of any kind to report. The stainless steel ported barrel looks really nice sticking out of the front of the gun. The trigger is much better on this ported version then on my other non ported M & P models. The grip is also improved over the first generation M & P 9. The HI Viz Optical sites are also a nice upgrade IMO. This is my first ported gun. I don't think i will be getting another ported semiautomatic. Not that it doesn't have improvements like the trigger, sights, and stainless steel barrel. I just don't think the actual porting on the slide and barrel does much to reduce recoil and is more work to clean. Especially when I factor that into the added price of buying the ported addition. Of course, this is a subjective point so you may prefer porting even though I don't. It's still a great gun :)
