I would recommend it...
I would recommend it if semi auto suits you. I prefer my revolvers, I sold this one with no problems.

I've only had the time...
I've only had the time to put about 150 rounds through the Shield Plus, but am very pleased so far. No jams or malfunctions of any sort and everything works as it should. I shot it alongside my full-sized 1911 chambered in 9mm so that I could compare the performance of both guns. Most significantly, the felt recoil of both guns seemed the same to me, presumably because the ported barrel of the Shield Plus compensated for its smaller size. Both guns have front fiber-optic sights, but the Shield Plus has rear fiber-optic sights as well. I like both sets of sights, but the full fiber-optic sight set on the Shield Plus makes it a little easier and quicker to obtain sight alignment than on the 1911. The trigger performance on the 1911, not surprisingly, is better than the trigger performance on the Shield Plus. But I was pleasantly surprised that the performance difference between the two triggers was not that obvious — the Shield Plus's trigger is very good indeed. Capacity on the Shield Plus is obviously much better than the capacity on the 1911 and the Shield Plus is obviously much easier to carry concealed. Although the 1911 grip is longer than the grip of the Shield Plus, I had no problem getting a good grip on the Shield Plus, and I have large hands. I read in one review of the Shield Plus that it handles like a full-sized gun, even though it is a micro-compact 9mm. I agree with that assessment. The one area in which the Shield Plus falls short when compared to the 1911 is in accuracy at distances greater than 30 feet. But that is not at all surprising, since the sight radius of the Shield Plus is significantly shorter than the sight radius of the 1911 (and the 1911 is inherently a very accurate handgun). But the difference in long-range accuracy should probably not make any difference to the purchaser, since the Shield Plus is built for concealed carry, not for long-distance bull's-eye shooting. In any event, I am confident that my accuracy with the Shield Plus at longer distances will improve with practice. In short, I am very pleased with my purchase of the Shield Plus with the ported barrel and fiber-optic sights and can recommend it to prospective purchasers without hesitation.
