Buds: 100% A+...
Buds: 100% A+ Springfield: 100% A+ Armstrong Arms FFL/DROS: 100% A+ This is one of only two full size 9mm 1911's on the CA roster, so not many choices. I love stainless pistols, and this one is beautiful. The fit and finish is superb, the grips are awesome looking. I have a kimber eclipse and RIA GI, both in 45, and this SA is similar in build quality to my Kimber. Nice case as well, which included 2 shiny 9mm factory mags, a cleaning brush, and various papers. Nothing to report yet on actually shooting it, too much to do and not enough time for the range yet. I've heard the 9mm's can be a bit finicky, time will tell. Buds normal price was still 10% LESS than my local Turner's SALE price. I even called Turner's if they would match, but no go. This is my 4th purchase from Buds, each has been great.

It is nice hefty...
It is nice hefty firearm. I wish I could include here the adjective well made also. Despite its size and heft I was surprised how short and slim is its handgrip. This is of course an individual and personal issue for somebody with very large hands and who never before handled a 1911. Unfortunately there are a few, hopefully only small issues with this gun, which necessitated a call to Springfield Armory Customer Service. The service representative I have talked to was nice and helpful and immediately offered that I should return the gun for evaluation to their Custom Shop and provided prepaid shipping label for this. The estimated turnaround time was quoted as 2-4 weeks. Hope that the mentioned issues will be corrected, that this firearm can ultimately live up to its historical reputation and I can put it to a good, even if a belated use and maybe even I could amend my present medium quality rating for it. Here I have to mention that I have other semi auto handguns made by 5 different manufacturers. All these came in what I consider a medium price range and none of them arrived upon purchase with any quality and other problems and all are after some years of use still perfectly functional and of a good quality, The Springfield 1911 is the second most expensive handgun I've ever purchased, so it is a bit of a sore point to me that this famous brand and type of firearm and (relatively pricey, at least to me) firearm should have such issues.
