The Springfield Armory Echelon 4.5F Compensated is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm pistol built around a robust stainless steel chassis and modular black polymer grip module. Its 4.5-inch hammer-forged steel barrel uses a Melonite finish and 1:10 twist, while the billet-machined Melonite-finished slide provides Springfield Armory's adaptive optics mounting system. This Gear Up Package includes a Crimson Trace CT-1500 red dot sight, five magazines, and a dual range bag for a complete range-ready setup.

Underrated, plain and...
Underrated, plain and simple. All available slides and barrels work on all available grip modules. 3 sizes of grip modules, with 3 sizes of backstraps for each. Swapping the COG between grip modules doesn't require any tools and takes about a minute. The small grip module is small enough for my petite partner to run a plate rack reliably after just a couple hours of instruction. The VIS optics mounting system let me pick whatever optic was best for me, instead of being limited to whatever footprint the manufacturer decided on. With the comp, it's everything I could possibly want in a modern flat shooting defense pistol. At this point can't wait for the aftermarket to produce more grip modules and a flux style PDW chassis to take advantage of the COG internal serialized chassis system. Also, 100% worth the extra effort to track down the gear up package. The extra mags alone are worth it.

This is one of my favorites since I got it. I have put about 250 rounds through it in the first week I had it. No jams or misfeeds and good trigger reset. Paired with the red dot it came with and it came with, it is a good weapon.
