A: I'm guessing the nj in the model stands for New Jersey

A: They are the same pistols. The NJE comes with (2) 13rd "Flush Fit" Magazines and the HCE comes with (1) 13 round flush magazine and (1) 19 round extended magazine. The 19rd would not be legal in NJ.

A: Yes, the XDM line have match grade barrels which makes them a step above the standard XD model.

A: Yes it does David. Usually match grade barrels will have tighter tolerances in the chamber and rifling and are usually meant for competition purposes. If it will be your carry piece, just make sure it cycles your preferred self-defense ammo reliably.

A: Mike, no, XD and XDm mags for the 45 caliber ARE interchangeable(the 45XD/XDM mags are the same). XD and XDm mags in the other calibers are not interchangeable.
