Product Overview
The Springfield Armory XD-S Compact is a slim, single-stack semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Its 3.3-inch hammer-forged steel barrel and forged steel slide feature a durable Melonite finish, while the black polymer frame keeps the unloaded package lightweight at 21.5 ounces with an empty magazine. The pistol combines a fiber optic front sight with a steel dovetail rear sight for a clear sight picture and uses a dual recoil spring system with a full-length guide rod. Passive trigger and grip safeties provide built-in safety features without an external manual safety. This Essentials package includes one flush-fitting 5-round magazine and one 6-round magazine with Mid-Mag X-Tension.

Thunder in your hand...
Thunder in your hand lol. If you have strong hands you will love this gun. The recoil is stiff though. What would you expect for a 45 of this size. Don't let that deter you.

With the usual...
With the usual Excellent Service which I have come to expect from Bud's, I received my new XD pistol promptly to my local FFL. I went to the range the next day and was impressed with how the small pistol was able to handle to .45 loads I fed it. 185 grain semi wadcutters and 230 grain hollowpoints both fed with no problem. I carry this pistol daily and feel it is one of the best compact pistols on the market.
