Product Overview
The Steyr Arms M9-A1 is a mid-sized, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm. Its four-inch barrel and 17+1 capacity provide a practical balance of shootability, handling, and ammunition capacity for defensive use and recreational range shooting. The black polymer frame keeps the pistol lightweight at 27.2 ounces, while the integrated accessory rail supports compatible lights and lasers. Rear slide serrations provide a secure gripping surface for chambering and clearing the pistol. Fantastic pistol. Nice...
Fantastic pistol. Nice trigger with great Trapezoid sights. I have taken this to all my classes and concealed carried it as well. My only gripe is that the slide stop is very small and can be hard to depress.

It's a glock, but not....
It's a glock, but not. The stubby slide means very low bore axis relative to your hand, but also means fewer shops willing to mill it for an optic. The stock irons are very fast at close range, but can be harder to use at longer distances. Glock-type rail for lights and etc., fits a TLR-7 or similar nicely. Trigger is okay, nothing to write home about. The trigger safety blade recesses, rather than hinges like a Glock does - I prefer this, YMMV. The primary issue I take with this handgun is it occasionally fails to return fully to battery after a press check or similar. This does not happen when a cartridge cycles the firearm. Lockup appears good, but the slide will noticeably jolt forward during dry fire when this happens. It's a dealbreaker on my defensive gun. Fun range pistol, pleasant ergos, but it needs improvement. Maybe the A2 model fixed this issue, I don't know.

This is an excellent firearm. I bought one for myself, then purchased another for my wife. We've shot well over 1,000 rounds each at the range and never experienced any issues.
