The STI International Spartan III is a compact .45 ACP 1911 pistol built on an Officer-length steel frame. Its 3.24-inch chromed non-ramped bull barrel supports a compact profile, while the traditional single-action design delivers the familiar 1911 manual of arms. The Parkerized finish provides a durable service-oriented exterior, and checkered mahogany grip panels give the pistol a secure, classic appearance. A high-rise beavertail grip safety, single-sided thumb safety, STI trigger system, Commander hammer, and STI sear and disconnector complete the dependable configuration.

Great gun, STI's are...
Great gun, STI's are really nice. Finish is not the best but for the price its good. Nice shooting, my second STI and not disappointing. Only 4/5 stars because the park finish is not as good as should be I don't think!

I bought the Spartan...
I bought the Spartan III after allot of research, i believe this is the best officers 1911 for the money available..i did have to wait about 30 days to receive it..i put some rounds through it and i am extremely pleased. i had absolutely no problems with any ammo i tried including 200 and 230 grain +p hollow points.. this is a solid solid gun.. a few negatives i noticed that are worth mentioning the main spring housing and the trigger are plastic! easily changed but not really okay IMO for a 1911.. There are some sharp edges mainly on the hammer, and the frame under the end of the barrel is tearing up my leather holster fast, the grips are a strange cut that is a little uncomfortable as well.. this thing is not very easy to break down and reassemble, not impossible but far harder than a full size 1911..i did get a bit cut up by it while figuring it out.. positives the six round mag it comes with works fine the kick is not that hard to control its accuarte my wife shot it and liked it :) the price is right and this handgun delivers serious semi custom performance.

The Spartan is a soldly built compact 1911....it does have a kick but it is controllable. The fit and finish is pretty good considering the price After 100 rounds, there was only one FTF. A solid gun..worth the money.
