The Taurus PT-917 is a full-size semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm and built on a durable steel frame. Its double-action and single-action trigger system provides a longer first pull followed by shorter single-action follow-up pulls. The four-inch barrel balances practical handling with a full-size grip and a 17+1 capacity. A blue finish, black polymer grips, standard sights, and an external manual safety complete the factory configuration. Two 17-round magazines are included.

Came packed in the old...
Came packed in the old style Taurus black and white cardboard box w/ gun lock and spare 17 rd. mag. Packed with heavy grease that had to be cleaned off, but kept the gun in excellent shape from the manufacturer. Almost smelled like cosmoline. Was surprised to learn that these guns are 2017 production, even though they are not in Taurus's current catalog or website inventory. Pleasant surprise 1# - it does -not- have the Taurus safety system. Loved that. Pleasant surprise 2, the gun that was shipped to me was a non-railed version, which is actually what I wanted in the first place. The site has sense updated the item picture. Shipping was within 2 days, Buds never fails to disappoint. Time to swap on some better grips and add a new cold weather carry gun to the mix.
