The Taurus PT99 AS is a full-size 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a 5-inch barrel and a traditional double-action/single-action operating system. Its stainless steel finish provides a durable, corrosion-resistant exterior, while the rubber grip helps maintain a secure hold during extended use. The pistol features a three-position ambidextrous frame-mounted safety that supports safe carry, cocked-and-locked carry, and decocking. A 17+1 capacity and two included magazines provide substantial onboard ammunition capacity. Nice firearm....
Nice firearm. Definitely not perfect. The magazine spring was a bit weak and the slide lock sometimes doesn't engage automatically on empty. I bought Wolff springs and problem went away. Still shouldn't have to do that. Otherwise, I have no complaint. Decent trigger. Looks and feels pretty much like the Beretta.

I love the one I got...
I love the one I got from Buds. It's a serious accurate full size 9MM. The stainless finish on it makes it look like something used by the hero in a movie _-All my friends think it's HOT). It may ONLY be a Taurus, but unless you want to spend a lot more you won't find a better full size 9MM. I put on Pachmayr grips but the stock grips are fine. I've shot 300 or so rounds of Federal 9bple, Fiocchi, Remington UMC, and WWB through it with no failures at all. MecGar 18 round magazines for it are superb and much better than the factory ones ( but the factory ones that came with it worked fine).
