A: Damion, I just recently picked this up from KY Firearms and have shot Buffalo Bore, Underwood and Doubletap ammunition with no issue. This model, Caniks, Tisas are all Military Spec handguns so, no issue. The clean and inspect on more frequent intervals as +P will accelerate wear compared to standard pressure rounds. A: This is a first gen. For gen 2 they upgraded good bit like the grip, the safety, the takedown lever, looks like an upgraded trigger and probably couple other things I'm missing. My local shop sells quite a few of these and I've been tempted to buy one awhile now. Never shot one but have felt one and feels like decent quality and all around good gun for the price. Not sure about the Philippine crest though. Personally looks like minor upgrades to change the looks so o personally wouldn't worry to much if it's first or second gen but that's me. I actually prefer the look of first gen. Hope this helps.

A: It has a manual thumb safety. I can't find any information showing if it has a drop safety but I'm sure it does, most modern firearms have some kind of drop safety.
